Bee Box
Prepare Your Plot
- Choose a location for B3 your Wildflower mix. This mix will thrive in sunny areas. Use the flags and string in your box to mark out the location.
- The string in your box is 10 feet long - choose a dimension that meets your needs. We recommend 10 x 10, 5 x 20, or 2.5 x 40.
- Flag each corner of your plot
Ready Your Seeds
- Use the NatureRoll Weed ZAP spray liberally on all areas inside your flags. Shake well and apply to dry vegetation on warm sunny mornings for best results. Allow spray to dry before proceeding (usually one hour).
- Shake a small amount of PSG Pollinator Seed mixture around the inner perimeter of your flagged area.
- Judge how much is left in the shaker, then evenly distribute the rest across the remainder of your flagged area.
Water, Water, Water!
- Watering daily helps seed thrive and grow - don’t let the wildflower seeds dry out for extended periods of time. Seeds must remain moist through germination and initial growth to survive.
- While moist seeds are important, over-watering will also hinder growth. Avoid pooling/standing water in the seedbed - this is the most important step in establishing your pollinator area.
- Make sure the pollinator area remains moist for up to one month.
Plant Your Sunflowers
- Place sunflowers 1.5 inches deep in random spots within the flagged area. Use the planting depth tool in your box to make sure sunflower seeds are planted at the proper depth.
- Expect growth in one month with flowers blooming in 3 months.
